Shadows of Stars was founded in 2003 as the first casting agency specialized for stand-ins and photo-doubles.

When actors need to learn their lines, rehearse or relax, this is the time for stand-ins to prepare the scene with light and camera departments. Stand-ins are usually never seen on camera, unless they are also photo-doubles.

Photo-doubles look enough like the cast that they can be used in front of the camera in certain situations, for example with the second unit while the actor is shooting on the main unit.

Marianna Krenova found stand-ins and photo-doubles to be very useful, so she founded Shadows of Stars in Prague.
