Sunfilms c.a. was founded in 2003 and started to produce documentaries, focused on social and political themes. The company executively produced „Prague Zoo During Floods” (25 min. documentary for NHK) and shooting in the Czech Rep. of the international documentary „Hammer & Tickle“ (co-produced by BBC and ARTE). Sunfilms fully produced the project „Lost Neighbours – Teen Cameras Search for Traces of Jewish Fellow-Citizens“ – two documentaries: “Kids from Hartmanice” (30 min., co-produced by the Dutch “Joodse Omroep – Nik Media”) and “Expedition Jews” (47 min., supported by The State Fund for the Development of Czech Cinema, Czech-German Fund of the Future, Czech Ministry for Education).

In 2006, Sunfilms produced an audiovisual educational project “Teens & Jews” about nowadays anti-Semitism (supported by The Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund) shot by Czech teenagers from three places (Mikulov, Strmilov and Ostrava) and supervised by 3 Czech directors. In 2009, Sunfilms produced seven-part documentary series about the daughters of 1950s political prisoners (in co-production with Czech TV and FAMU). In 2010 Sunfilms produces seven-part documentary series about the sons of 1950s political prisoners (in co-production with Czech TV and FAMU – known Prague Film and TV School).
