Film Friendly Award

Encouraging places of interest to work with film crews, spreading awareness of the benefits of audiovisual productions, as well as informing filmmakers about active, friendly locations, towns, and entire regions in the Czech Republic – these are the goals of the Film Friendly initiative.

The competition started in 2014 and is aimed at regions and locations for actively seeking out filmmakers and crafting an effective concept to attract productions to the region via audiovisual promotional works.

“We have long encouraged regions to work with filmmakers, and we feel that with each year the regions are more open to and interested in attracting productions. The Film Friendly awards are an appreciation of their efforts,” said Czech Film Commissioner Pavlína Žipková.

The Film Friendly prize is awarded by the Czech Film Commission and the Czech association of location managers and scouts. Since its inception, the initiative has been supported by the CzechTourism.
